Ordered the chicken quesadilla a few minutes before they were closing via text. The quesadilla was great, filled with chicken, cheese, peppers, and onions. Toasted with a crispy outside. I was not expecting the size of the quesadilla. Enough for myself and one or two other hungry people to share. Anthony and his son were working together. Definitely give them a try! Nice people and great prices.
Got the fish and grits platter. It was bangin! Great value! Its hard to find a place that will make you lunch at 9 am too
My daughter raved about this restaurant so we visited while in DC. Upon entering it was unbearably hot. They had a fan going but it was simply circulating hot air. We placed our order and thank goodness we had cash because they weren't accepting cards for payment due to a system issue. That was quite inconvenient and would've been good to know prior to ordering. The food itself was hot and fresh. Our order was also accurate. It's a little "hole in the wall" place which are most times the tastiest places to eat. The restaurant is very small and you only have enough room to order and wait outside for it to be fulfilled. Needless to say there's no seating or table service offered. Overall, it's a soul food restaurant with tasty menu items. It's moderately priced. I'd return with my daughter because as a Howard college student she loves them and I feel really good about supporting a black owned business. Hopefully you'll support them as well.
